Gangtok is naturally blessed with a refreshing,cool and pleasant climatic conditions through out the year. The average temperature of the days hover around 18 degrees centrigrade all the year round. The hill station gets plenty of rainfall as it shares close proximity through out the year.

Summers arrive in March and continues till May when the hill station sports a sunny appearance. The Rainy season begins in June and stretches till early September marked by heavy downpourand and landslides. July receives the highest rainfall with a record of 5000mm rainfall and is the wettest month. Winters set in November and stretches till March and April marked by sudden dip in the temperature resulting in chilling cold. The hill station recorded the minimum temperature in December and January when the temperature has gone below 2 degree centigrade. One can see fog covering the hill station like a blanket. Snowfall is a common feature mostly found on the upper part of the hill town.
